Associate Membership

Associate members are artists or art professionals who play a vital role in Open Hand Open Space, contributing to our community and delivering artistic excellence. We aim for our relationships to be mutually beneficial, as we share our knowledge and ambitions to help us develop as artists and move the organisation forward. Membership costs £6 per month or £72 per year. Members have the opportunity to apply for members’ exhibitions (once or twice per year), to get involved in our events and take part in other opportunities which are only open for members.

Our aim is to maintain the highest standards, while allowing room for artists to develop and grow. Our selection process aims to ensure applicants are right for us. A new artist becomes part of the organisation, and must commit to helping us flourish as a group.

All applications are considered by the Management Committee. They’ll be looking for:

• An enquiring, professional contemporary art practice that wishes to engage critically in the contemporary art field. To demonstrate this, provide a CV, artist's statement and six examples of recent work.


• Commitment to contributing to the running of OHOS, attending meetings, work parties and other activities.


• Commitment to collaboration and willingness to share your skills and knowledge with the other members, in order to develop your own practice and build up OHOS as an inclusive and engaging art community.


• Compliance with the terms and conditions for OHOS members.

On acceptance, and payment of the subscription, the applicant becomes a voting member of Open Hand Open Space Limited, a registered charity and not-for-profit company.
